Lisa teaches in the the environmental studies program in SSEE. Her research interests span the disciplines of human geography and anthropology and focus on the areas of natural and cultural resource management, tourism, and governmental and resource industry agreements with indigenous and local peoples in postcolonial states. She is currently working on an ARC Linkage project Agreements, Treaties and Negotiated Settlements with Indigenous Peoples conducting research in Australia, Canada and south-east Asia (www.atns.net.au). With a group of SSEE colleagues, Lisa is also developing a research project on local approaches to resource management in Timor Leste (in collaboration with Universidade de Paz in Dili, Timor Leste. In 2001, she completed her PhD on competing Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal land management interests in Kakadu National Park.
