Interaction of NH3 and N2O emissions and soil N processes for irrigated pastures

The proposed study aims to measure NH3 and NOx emissions from intensively grazed dairy pastures in Victoria and to study soil N dynamics using 15N labeling technique to compliment the N2O measurement by CRC Non-CO2 program using the most advanced micro-meteorological facilities available in Australia. The outcome will assist the development of a water and N management model and contribute to identifying best management practices for increasing N fertilizer efficiency and reducing N2O emissions.
