Treated Timber Framing: a National Termite Protection Workshop

November 25, 2003

*

The purpose of the Workshop is threefold:

  • To highlight the integration of treated timber in building structures as a horizontal issue,
  • To allow participants to identify new technologies and explore ways to build on existing best practice in partnership with other professionals,
  • To provide a practical understanding of timber-in-service in hazard class 2 for a range of wood preservatives; showcase best practice in termite control and use of structural timber in buildings in areas of high to low termite hazard; discuss treated timber and building design and review safety issues for workers using treated timber.
