Recasting Australian Cities to meet the Challenges of Climate Change

Professor Rob AdamsPublic Lecture
Wednesday 28 May, 5.30pm, Turner Theatre, Botany Building, Parkville

Speaker: Prof. Robert John Adams AM
Director Design and Urban Environment, City of Melbourne

In this presentation Professor Adams will investigate a new role for the Australian city, a role where urbanity meets suburbia in a meaningful partnership to produce a sustainable, liveable and economically viable future.

Accepting and working to offset climate change may well produce a renaissance for our cities – potentially a positive rather than negative result.

Professor Adams has over 36 years experience as a practising architect and urban designer.  As Director Design and Urban Environment for the City of Melbourne he has produced a prolonged and consistent output of design-research based urban projects and strategies, worthy of over 100 state and national awards for excellence.

Presented by the Community and Industry Advisory Board of the Office for Environmental Programs.

Entry is free and refreshments will be served following the lecture. To reserve a seat please contact the Office for Environmental Programs on 8344 5073 or fill out your details below.
