Welcome to the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Land and Food Resources website. The Faculty is Australia’s largest, providing education and research activities in support of sustainable primary industry including food science, production systems for dairy, grains, horticulture, forest and pasture ecosystems, water resource management and agribusiness.
Students have the opportunity to enhance their career aspirations from a range of high quality courses: undergraduate and postgraduate degree coursework programs to research training at the Masters and PhD levels. Educational experiences are provided on 4 campuses through 3 schools and several specialist research centres. Professional development suitable for a range of industry-oriented careers is a special focus of our educational programs. International as well as Australian students are welcomed.
Partnerships with industry, strengthened by collaborative research and education programs ensure an enriching educational experience for our students mentored by dedicated and professional staff. Graduates have the opportunity to contribute to both policy and participation in creating sustainable urban and rural environments ranging from such diverse fields as genetically improved crops and forests, water conservation and use, pollution and greenhouse gas management, and improved food production and safety.
The Faculty derives much benefit by being an integral part of Australia’s leading research-led university with strong links to other faculties offering the prospect of degrees incorporating subjects from several other science and social science disciplines.
