An invitation to the launch of the
Postgraduate Certificate in Climate Change for Primary Industries
You are invited to join Dr Bruce Kefford, Deputy Secretary, Agriculture Research and Development, Victorian Department of Primary Industries and Professor Rick Roush, Dean, the Melbourne School of Land and Environment, at the launch of the Postgraduate Certificate in Climate Change for Primary Industries.
The new Postgraduate Certificate in Climate Change for Primary Industries will enable students to develop a profound understanding of the many factors underpinning food and fibre security, and an awareness of methods for sustainable food and fibre production and their markets in the face of changing climate.
The future international competitiveness of Australia’s primary industries, and therefore the strength of its regional farming and forestry communities, will depend largely on how well they adapt to and mitigate against climate change in the next decade.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Climate Change for Primary Industries is a collaboration between the Melbourne School of Land and Environment (The University of Melbourne) and the Victorian Department of Primary Industries. The course is administered by Melbourne Consulting and Custom Programs.
This innovative new program will be launched by Dr Bruce Kefford and Professor Rick Roush.
This is a custom program developed for the Victorian Department of Primary Industries, but there are opportunities for the Melbourne School of Land and Environment to provide advanced training in this area to other interested industry or government bodies. The program is full for the first intake, however if you would like to register your interest please contact Vicki Vlahos, Project Manager, Melbourne Consulting and Custom Programs at v.vlahos@mccp.unimelb.edu.au or on 03 9810 3383.
