Undergraduate Courses Fees

Please note that it is each student's responsibility to arrange the payment of fees by the published due date(s) and to ensure that the University has your current and correct mailing address.

Local Students

Local undergraduate students in the Faculty of Land and Food Resources will be enrolled under one of the following basic fee types:

Commonwealth Supported Places (Higher Education Contribution Scheme or HECS students)

Fees are subsidised by the Federal Government and can choose to defer the payments. Check the exact HECS and SAF fees here. For more details about HECS visit the DEST website.

Access Melbourne

This is the University's special entry and scholarship scheme and twenty percent (approximately 1000 places) of the University's new undergraduate Commonwealth Supported Places will be offered to students who have applied through Access Melbourne. There are also up to 200 Melbourne Access Scholarships available. These offer a HECS-exempt place plus $2000 or $4000 a year for up to four years. In 2007 at least 20% of the total number of Commonwealth supported places available were offered to Access Melbourne applicants. You can find out more from the Access Melbourne website.

Australian full fee students

You must pay the full fee for their course either upfront, or in semesterly or quarterly payments throughout the year. Australian fees for undergraduate courses in Arts include the University Amenities and Services fees. You can find out more about Australian full fees at the Future Students web site.

International Students

Full Course

International full fee students must pay the full fee for their course upfront, or in semesterly or quarterly payments throughout the year. Study Abroad and Exchange

The Study Abroad and Exchange programs are for international students undertaking one or two semesters study away from your home institution. The cost of tuition in an Exchange Program is generally covered under the agreement between your home institution and the University of Melbourne. Study Abroad students come from universities that don't have a formal agreement with the University of Melbourne, and you will pay fees for the semester or year you study here.
